Required Product Fields & checklist for Proper Front-End Display

About this article

In this article we will describe the necessary fields and configurations to ensure products are correctly displayed in both Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Wholesale (B2B) in Centra.

Please note that if all of the fields are defined as described, and products still do not appear on your frontend, you should reach out to your front-end partner, as a recache might be needed, or the issue lies elsewhere.

Checklist

Below we list all fields that play a role in making a product visible on your website. Please note that these are specified based on the five product layers, namely Product, Variant, Size, Store attributes and Display. This is to aid you in finding the right setting in each corresponding section.

Product level settings

Brand: Ensure the Brand is active for the Store

Product name: The product name field must not be empty

Product Status: Confirm the Product has a status of “Active

Variant level settings

Variant: Ensure that the product has at least one variant

Variant Status: Verify the Variant is set to “Active

Size Chart: Ensure a Size Chart is selected for each Variant

Size level settings

Size: Confirm the Size is activated with stock available, or at least set to “0” stock

Store attributes level settings

Market: Confirm that the Market has the appropriate geo-locations selected

Pricelist: Ensure the Pricelist is active, with the desired geo-locations selected

Price: Confirm that the Product/Variant has a price added in the respective Pricelist. The price can be set to “0” (which means the product is free), but it cannot be left blank “-”

‌Display level settings

Display: Confirm that a Display is created for the product

Display Status: Check if the Display is set to “Active

Market in Display: Verify that the relevant Markets are selected in the Display

Variant in Display: Verify that the Variant is activated on the Display

Categories: Ensure the Display is assigned to at least one active Category (Not required for Checkout API, Shop API, or Showroom API)

Specific to Wholesale (B2B) only

Variant in Delivery Window: Check if the Variant is added to the respective Delivery Window

Delivery Window: Check if Delivery Window is not hidden from Front-end and confirm the status is “Active”. Check respective Market selected. Check if Delivery Window has “open” Sales Start and Stop Dates

Account: Check if Account’s Market and Pricelist match the Product setup. Check if there are no Brand restrictions

User: Check if User / Agent / Sales Rep has access to respective Account, Pricelist and Market. Check if there are no Brand restrictions

Bundles

Ensure all products within a Bundle are fully configured according to the checklist above

Bundle Type: Confirm which Bundle type is selected. Flexible Bundles are not supported in Wholesale. They require additional front-end development to be visible in the DTC front end

Display: Confirm that a Display is created for the bundle product

Display Status: Check if the Display is marked as “Active”. Exception: Bundle Display status can be “Preview

Product Not Visible in Google/Facebook Feed

Below is a description of the required fields and configurations to ensure that products are correctly displayed in your Google and Facebook feeds:

Product + Variant + Size Setup: Confirm the Product is fully configured according to the checklist above

g: image_link: Each Variant must have at least one image activated in the Display where this Variant is also activated

g:category: Check if the mandatory g:category attribute on the Product general level has a value. Alternatively, ensure the Google/Facebook plugin is set to Always Default, and that a default g:category value is defined

g:product_type: Ensure the mandatory g:product_type attribute on the Product general level has a value, or check the Always Default setting in the plugin

Add /text/errors after the country suffix in the feed URL to see the list of reasons why each Product Variant is missing from the feed.

Example: http://www.xxxxxx.centra.com/plugin-export/google-merchant-feed/se/text/errors

Troubleshooting Tips

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help determine whether the issue with the product missing in the website is related to Centra.

  • Product Not Reflected in Front-End:
    • Create a selection in the Centra backend and search for the item
      • ‌ If it’s reflected in the backend, add the product to the cart and proceed to checkout. If it works here, the issue is not related to Centra
      • If you encounter an empty selection, check the product setup (also review allocation rules)
  • ‌Product Not Displayed After Activating Additional Sizes:
    • If the product does not appear or disappears from the front end after activating additional sizes, try performing an Edit → Save action at the Display level

Why Is the Product Out of Stock?

‌FTA Stock

  • Check if the Variant has FTA (Free to Allocate) stock for the respective size

‌Allocation Rule

  • Verify that the Warehouse holding the FTA stock is connected to the Store and Market via an Allocation Rule
